Indicative foreign exchange reference rate
The positive ratio of quote-currency units per one base-currency unit for an indicative reference quote. The pair direction, reference date and provider methodology are necessary context. It is not a money amount, reciprocal, cross-rate, execution price, bid or ask, daily average or closing price. Reversing the pair or combining quotes is a separate derivation requiring an explicit arithmetic and rounding policy; rates must not be summed as amounts.
