Software version
An identified revision of a software application. A release uses a version as the name of what it makes available. A version is not a build. A build is one artifact produced from a commit, and building the same sources again can produce another artifact of the same version. A version is not a deployment and not an environment. The version number may follow semantic versioning or another scheme; the scheme is not part of the identity of this concept.
