Software component
A part of a software application, such as a module, a library or a microservice that is deployed on its own. Calling a part a microservice does not make it the service concept: a service is a capability offered to another party, and a component is a piece of software. A failing component may cause an incident on a service. The component is still not that service, and it is not the application taken as a whole.
