Service level indicator
A quantitative measure of one aspect of the level of service provided, such as the proportion of well-formed requests that succeed, a latency, or the proportion of time the service is usable. Each indicator names its own good events and valid events. Because that definition changes from one indicator to another, the indicator is an entity here and not one measure with a single formula. An objective sets a target on an indicator. The indicator is not that target and not the agreement. Availability is one measure a team may adopt as an indicator. A key performance indicator judges success against a business objective and is a different concept. ITIL's service level names expected or achieved quality without this split; this concept is only the measurement.
