Key performance indicator
A metric an organization has chosen to judge success in meeting an objective. Which formula it uses is part of that choice, so a key performance indicator is recorded as an entity and not as one measure with a formula fixed here. It is not a service level indicator. A service level indicator measures the behavior of a service. A key performance indicator judges a business result. An organization can watch either, and choosing one does not make it the other.
