Known error
A problem that has been analysed and has not been resolved. Analysis is what distinguishes it from a problem that is still unexamined. A workaround is often recorded with it and is not required for this status. The cause can still be in the service, so a known error is not a completed fix, not an incident, and not a runbook. It is not the ITIL word error, which names a flaw or vulnerability that may cause incidents. A runbook may tell a responder to apply a workaround.
